Executive Vice President, Exploration and Production

Tom Hellman was appointed executive vice president, exploration and production in 2026. Hellman is responsible for geosciences, engineering (reservoir, production, and facilities), production and midstream operations for the Anadarko, Eagle Ford, Marcellus and Rockies business units. He most recently served as senior vice president, new ventures, and previously as senior vice president, E&P operations. Prior to joining Devon, he spent seven years at Marathon Oil Corporation serving in various leadership roles, including as vice president of operations for the Permian and Oklahoma regions. Before joining Marathon, Hellman was vice president, drilling and completions at WPX Energy. Earlier in his career, he worked international and domestic assignments at Apache (APA Corporation), BP and Amoco in various technical and leadership roles. Hellman holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Alberta.
