Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Kevin Smith was appointed executive vice president and chief technology officer in 2026. Smith is responsible for Devon's artificial intelligence, technology, digital security, corporate reserves, new ventures and integrated subsurface functions. Prior to this role, he served as senior vice president and chief technology officer of Coterra Energy. He began his career with Cimarex Energy in 2005 and held a variety of technical and leadership roles, including director of technology, Anadarko exploration region manager, and chief engineer. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa.
