Non-Executive Chair

Thomas Jorden joined the board of directors and became Board Chair in May 2026 following Devon’s merger with Coterra Energy Inc. (Coterra). At Coterra, Jorden served as chairman, chief executive officer and president. Prior to joining Coterra through a merger in 2021, Jorden served as chairman, chief executive officer and president of Cimarex Energy Co. Jorden is a geophysicist with extensive experience leading public companies. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Tulane University and is the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Colorado School of Mines where he earned his master’s degree in Geophysics.

Mr. Jorden is an experienced and accomplished leader. He brings to Devon over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas exploration and production industry as well as a deep understanding of matters impacting the energy industry. His significant familiarity of Coterra’s business, operations, long-term strategy and goals make him a valuable member of our board.
