The Devon Science Giants grant program recognizes schools that demonstrate commitment to using creative and exciting methods to foster student interest in the critical subject. Devon will present awards totaling $25,000 to schools in DeWitt County to support the winning schools' vision for science education.

  • Two awards to be given totaling $25,000
  • The winning schools will be announced in January 2018 
  • Schools must be in DeWitt County
  • Schools must be public elementary, middle or high schools
  • One application per school
  • Principal must approve entry
  • Recipients will be asked to complete the project within one year and provide a written project summary with samples of class work, photographs and success stories.
  • Application window will be open from Tuesday, Sept. 5 until Friday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. 

Schools will be judged based on:

  • Exciting and sustainable approaches used in and out of the classroom to cultivate student interest in science, especially Earth science
  • Vision to improve student achievement in science
  • Appropriate and resourceful project budget
  • Thoroughness of the application

Principals of the winning schools will be notified by phone. 

Judges' decisions are final.
