Devon's Science Giants grant program is designed to help educators provide strategic, inventive and hands-on science instruction to spark students’ interest in the subject. Devon will present one $10,000 award in Southeast New Mexico to support strategic and creative visions for school-wide academic progress in science.

  • One $10,000 award will be presented.
  • Schools must be in Eddy or Lea County
  • Schools must be public elementary, middle or high schools
  • One application per school
  • Principal must approve entry
  • Recipients will be asked to complete the project within one year and provide a written project summary with samples of class work, photographs and success stories.
  • Application window will be open from Monday, Aug. 29 until Friday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. 
  • Applications are evaluated on idea originality, demonstrated vision to improve achievements in science and benefit to future students.
  • Special attention is given to projects that engage the entire student body and focus on geology, engineering or earth science.
  • Applications should be thorough and include an appropriate and resourceful project budget.
  • Devon Energy will select winners from all eligible entries. Judges’ decisions are final.
