2016 Newsweek Green Rankings

Newsweek magazine named Devon to its list of the most environmentally conscious U.S. energy companies. Among the top 500 publicly traded U.S. companies, Devon ranked eighth among 41 companies listed in the energy sector. The magazine considered factors such as the company's environmental impact, its environmental policies and initiatives and its transparency in reporting environmental performance.


2015 Chairman's Stewardship Award

The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission honored Devon with its 2015 Chairman’s Stewardship Award for best partnership in recognition of the company’s support for the Wyoming Conservation Corps. The University of Wyoming-based WCC is dedicated to assisting government agencies in the management of public lands across Wyoming. Since the organization was established in 2006, Devon has been providing funding, vehicles, equipment and employee volunteers to help curtail erosion, improve habitat, prevent forest fires and protect wildlife in Wyoming’s wilderness areas.


2015 Newsweek Green Rankings

Newsweek magazine named Devon to its list of the most environmentally conscious U.S. energy companies. Among the top 500 publicly traded U.S. companies, Devon ranked 272 overall and 12 among 55 energy companies on the list. The magazine considered factors such as the company's environmental impact, its environmental policies and initiatives and its transparency in reporting environmental performance.


2014 Responsible Canadian Energy Award

Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers recognized Devon's wildlife mitigation and monitoring program in the oil sands. Impacts to wildlife, biodiversity and land are major topics of interest for stakeholders. The program is a multi-pronged commitment to monitor wildlife populations, conduct environmental research to fill key data gaps and mitigate negative impacts to biodiversity in and around project areas. This marked the fifth time in seven years that CAPP has recognized Devon.

Among the top 500 publicly traded U.S. companies, Devon ranked sixth among 21 companies listed in the energy sector. The magazine considered factors such as the company's environmental impact, its environmental policies and initiatives and its transparency in reporting environmental performance.


2013 National Phoenix Award

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency presented Devon with its National Phoenix Award. In recognition of the best brownfield renewal project of the year among all 10 EPA regions within the United States. The award recognizes Devon's 2009 clean-up and soil remediation work prior to construction of its new headquarters in downtown Oklahoma City.


2013 LEED Gold Certification Awarded to Devon Energy Center

The U.S. Green Building Council recognized Devon's headquarters in Oklahoma City with the second highest certification available. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the preeminent program for rating the design, construction and operations of buildings. At the time of certification, Devon Energy Center was the largest building of its kind to have achieved the gold standard from the Green Building Council.


2012 President's Award for Safety

The Gas Processors Association honored Devon's Marketing and Midstream Division with its 2012 President's Award for Safety in recognition for year-over-year safety performance within its natural gas processing operations.


2012 Union Pacific's Pinnacle Award for Chemical Transportation Safety

The rail-loading facility at Devon's natural gas processing plant in Bridgeport, Texas, received this award in recognition of safe loading practices and safe handling of gas natural products. It was the Bridgeport Plant's third straight year to receive the award.


2012 Bruno Hansen/Midland College Environmental Excellence Award

This award recognizes many years of dedicated leadership in protecting, restoring, and enhancing range land and wildlife habitat in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico.


2012 American Carbon Registry's Innovation Award

The American Carbon Registry presented Devon with its Innovation award in recognition of the company's creation of the first U.S. carbon offset protocol for the oil and natural gas industry. In the event Congress ever passes a cap-and-trade program for carbon emissions, this protocol essentially gives Devon credit for emissions saved through technology installed at production sites.


2012 Newsweek's 'Green Rankings' List — Newsweek Magazine

Among the top 500 publicly traded U.S. companies, Devon ranked second among independent oil and natural gas producers and 16th among all 31 companies listed in the energy sector.


2012 Award of Excellence — Platts Global Energy Awards

Devon was a finalist for the 2012 Global Energy Awards, receiving an Award of Excellence for Corporate Social Responsibility in the Stewardship category. The Award of Excellence recognizes companies for their commitment to sustainability, corporate social responsibility, efficiency and green energy production.


2012 Corporate Responsibility Magazine's 10 Best Corporate Citizens

Devon was named by Corporate Responsibility (CR) magazine as one of the "10 Best Corporate Citizens" in the energy sector. To arrive at its rankings, CR used 324 data elements for each company in categories including environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, governance, financial and employee relations


2011 Restore New Mexico Award

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) honored Devon with the 2011 Restore New Mexico Award for the company's leadership in southeast New Mexico to protect and enhance the habitat of two rare species, the Lesser Prairie Chicken and the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard. Devon was selected for its proactive and voluntary participation in a Candidate Conservation Agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the BLM that require participants to address the conservation needs of animals before they become listed as endangered or threatened species.


2011 Major Reclamation Award — Alberta Chamber of Resources

Devon's Canadian Division was chosen to receive the 2011 Major Reclamation Award from the Alberta Chamber of Resources. The award recognizes a company's commitment to reclamation as reflected both by its corporate policy and its real-world, innovative performance on the environmental front. This is the third time in the past 20 years that Devon has been chosen to receive the Major Reclamation Award.


2010 U.S. Bureau of Land Management's National Training Center

For seven years, employees in Devon's Artesia, N.M., field office have been hosting training for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). For three of those seven years, including 2010, the BLM National Training Center has recognized Devon for the partnership. In addition to offering a location for the training, employees scheduled training exercises for students on handling and measurement of production at Devon's facilities.

2017 Military Friendly Award

For the fifth straight year, G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazine named Devon to its top military-friendly employers list. The list includes companies with more than $1 billion in revenue that exhibit leading practices for military recruitment and retention. Criteria includes the strength of company military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention efforts and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service. The company received praise for its generous military leave of absence policy and its outreach and professional development opportunities for employees with military backgrounds.



2016 Most Valuable Employers for Military

For the third straight year Devon was named a Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for Military by CivilianJobs.com. The MVE recognition serves to help military-experienced job seekers and veterans identify the top employers to target for civilian careers.



2015 Global Award for Excellence

The Urban Land Institute, an international advocate for responsible land use, awarded Devon Energy Center its 2015 Global Award for Excellence in recognition of the development’s transformative impact on downtown Oklahoma City. Devon was chosen from 22 finalists from Asia, Europe and North America. The ULI promotes responsible use of land to create sustainable, healthy communities around the world. Through its award, the institute credits Devon for inspiring new construction of high-rise buildings and for paving the way for businesses to relocate their operations and employees downtown.


2015 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award

Devon is a recipient of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. government to employers for their support of their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve. Devon is among 15 recipients nationwide of this prestigious award.

In 2012, Devon created a goal that 6 percent of all new hires would have a military background. By 2014, 10 percent of all new hires had served their country.


2015 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials — Fortune Magazine

Fortune magazine named Devon to its inaugural list of the best workplaces for millennials, based on anonymous surveys of 90,000 U.S. workers under age 35.

Devon was the only Oklahoma-based company and one of two oil and natural gas producers to make the list.



2015 Great Places to Work Institute — Canada's Best Workplaces

Devon has been named to the Globe & Mail's list of the Best Workplaces in Canada for 2015. The company ranked No. 26 in the Large and Multinational category.



2015 Best for Vets Employers — Military Times

Devon is named one of the Military Times "Best for Vets" employers in 2015. Devon was ranked #13 overall and #1 in the oil and natural gas industry.

Rankings were developed based on the recruiting of employees connected to the military; company policies related to veterans, reservists and their families; and the organization's culture.

Devon's rank was based largely on a random, anonymous survey of employees conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute. The survey found that employees think they are given ample responsibility, feel they are compensated fairly and take pride in Devon's contributions to the community.

For the third straight year, G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazine named Devon to its top military-friendly employers list. Devon ranked No. 44 on the 2015 list of 100 companies.

2014 Fit Friendly Business

The American Heart Association awarded Devon its Fit Friendly Business Award (Platinum Level) for the second year in a row and its Worksite Innovation award. The Fit Friendly program recognizes employers that champion the health of their employees and work to create a culture of physical activity and health in the workplace.


2014 Winning Company Award

The 2020 Women on Boards organization recognized Devon with its Winning Company Award for 2014. The organization is a national non-profit, grassroots campaign to increase the number of women on corporate boards by the year 2020. The organization recognizes the importance of board diversity, and the award program is intended to educate corporate stakeholders and promote companies with diverse boards as examples of good corporate governance. 2013 100 Best Companies to Work For — Fortune Magazine

Devon ranked among Fortune magazine's top 100 employers for the sixth straight year.


2013 Fortune 500 Largest Corporations

Devon Energy was ranked on Fortune magazine's annual list of America's largest corporations. In the Mining or Crude-Oil Production category, Devon ranked 10th in size and first in Return on Revenue, which is calculated by dividing net income by revenue. The company has been part of the Fortune 500 list since 2002.


2013 Great Places to Work Institute — Canada's Best Workplaces

Devon's Canadian Division was honored as one of Canada's top employers for the fifth straight year.


2013 Top 100 Military Friendly Employers

G.I. Jobs magazine named Devon to its top military-friendly employers list for the second straight year. The list represents the top 2 percent of more than 5,000 eligible companies with annual revenues exceeding $500 million. Criteria included the strength of military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention efforts and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service.


2013 Jackfish 1 Best in Class

An independent benchmarking study of in-situ oil sands operations ranked Devon's first Jackfish project as best in class in several key metrics. Ziff Energy Group, which conducted the study, is the first to comprehensively review these types of operations in Canada. The study found Devon to be the best in the industry in running thermal facilities. The study examined multiple facets of in-situ operations, including operating costs, efficiency, steam-generation costs, reliability, staffing and safety performance.


2013 Hearst Energy Award for Company Performance

Devon's expanding presence and growth in the Permian Basin earned Devon the 2013 Energy Award for Company Performance from the Midland Reporter-Telegram, a division of Hearst Newspapers. Devon was noted for its expansion in West Texas and for building a new office in Midland.


2013 Pro Patria Award

Devon received the 2013 Pro Patria Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Oklahoma committee for its support to Guard and Reserve employees. The award recognizes the company's leadership and practices, including adopting personnel policies that make it easier for employees to participate in military service.


2013 Corporate Wellness Award

The Institute for Health and Productivity Management recognized Devon as one its five Integrated Health Value-Based Health corporate winners. It is the first time an energy company has been listed. The organization highlighted Devon's executive-level commitment to health through a variety of programs to keep employees engaged. The institute also noted Devon's impressive wellness results.


2012 100 Best Companies to Work For — Fortune Magazine

For the fifth straight year, Devon was ranked among Fortune Magazine's list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For.


2012 World's Most Admired Companies — Fortune Magazine

Devon Energy made Fortune Magazine's list of World's Most Admired Companies for the seventh consecutive year. Within the "mining/crude-oil production" category, Devon ranked No. 1 in social responsibility. Devon also ranked No. 3 in innovation, people management, use of corporate assets and quality of products/services. Of the 358 total companies on the list, Devon was the only one based in Oklahoma.


2012 Fortune 500 Largest Corporations

In the Mining, Crude-Oil Production category, Devon ranked No. 7. Out of the top 500 companies in the U.S., Devon ranked No. 1 in the Return on Revenue category, which is calculated by dividing net income by revenue. Devon also ranked as the 38th most profitable company in the U.S. The company has been included in the list since 2002.


2012 Great Place to Work Institute — Canada's Best Workplaces

For the fourth straight year, Devon's Canadian Division was named a Great Place to Work in Canada, ranking 12 th for companies with more than 1,000 employees.


2012 Top 100 Military Friendly Employers

G.I. Jobs magazine ranked Devon No. 57 on the list of 100 companies.


2012 Producer of the Year — Oil Sands Review Magazine

For the second time in five years, Devon Canada was selected Producer of the Year by Oil Sands Review magazine. According to the magazine, the Producer of the Year exhibits strategy, performance, efficiency and innovation. The award also cited the company's environmental, social and economic leadership. The magazine called Devon "a leader in production performance—the best of the best of oil sands owners."


2012 CR Magazine - Best Corporate Citizens

Corporate Responsibility magazine named Devon one of its "10 Best Corporate Citizens" in the energy sector. Companies listed by CR Magazine evaluate companies based on publicly available information on environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance, and philanthropy & community support. The list draws from companies included on the Russell 1000 Index.


2011 Compass Award — Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium

The Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium recognized Devon with the 2011 Compass Award in the large-company category. The award was given in recognition of Devon's exemplary efforts in leadership, organizational culture, open communications and corporate social responsibility.


2011 Above and Beyond Award — U.S. Army Reserve

This award is presented to employers who surpass the legal requirements for granting leave and financial support for their employees who also serve in the military. Devon's military leave policy in the U.S. extends financial support to 12 months, and employees receive full salary for three months and then differential pay above military standard for the remaining nine months. Service members and their families also benefit from 12 months of health care coverage.

2015 Excellence for Student Achievement Award

The Carlsbad, New Mexico Municipal Schools recognized Devon with the Excellence for Student Achievement Award, which seeks to enhance efforts to improve student achievement in school districts throughout New Mexico. The award recognizes recipients for their role in improving student achievement at the local district level.


2014 Lovington, New Mexico Business of the Year

Devon was named Business of the Year by the Lovington Chamber of Commerce for its strong operational footprint in Southeast New Mexico and for its contributions to the Lovington community, including partnerships with the local food bank, Lovington public schools and contributions to local emergency response organizations.


2013 Civic 50

Devon was named to the Civic 50, a national program that recognizes the most community-minded companies in America. Devon was the only Oklahoma company on the 2013 list and ranked second in the Energy and Utilities category. The Civic 50 is a national initiative to survey and rank America's S&P 500 corporations on how they engage with the communities they serve. Specifically, Civic 50 recognizes companies that commit their time, talent and resources to empower and improve local communities. The Civic 50 program is conducted by the National Conference on Citizenship and Points of Light, in partnership with Bloomberg LP.


2013 Outstanding Community Partner

The Denton, Texas, Independent School District named Devon the Outstanding Community Partner of the Year for 2013. Devon is the “Adopt-a-School" partner for Borman Elementary School and provides monetary contributions and volunteers.


2013 Outstanding Corporate Supporter Award

Devon was named the Outstanding Corporate Supporter by the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. Devon established a regional office in Stillwater in 2012 to serve as a hub for operations in the Mississippian-Woodford Trend. The company supports the community with volunteers, in-kind donations, monetary donations and fundraising leadership.


2013 Trinity Habitat for Humanity Heroes Award

In Spring 2013, devastating tornadoes struck Granbury, Tex., including an area where many Habitat for Humanity homes had been constructed. Devon has been a long-time Habitat for Humanity partner, and North Texas employees stepped in to help rebuild many of the Habitat homes. The company received the Heroes Award for employees' efforts.


2012 Civic 50

The National Conference on Citizenship and Points of Light named Devon to the inaugural Bloomberg Civic 50, which is designed to recognize the most community-minded companies in America. The Civic 50 is a national initiative to survey and rank America's S&P 500 corporations on how they engage with the communities they serve.


2012 Environmental Advocate Award — Keep Oklahoma Beautiful

Devon was selected for its sponsorship of the Great American Cleanup in Oklahoma for 2012. The award honors Devon's commitment to endorsing environmental improvements in the state. Because of Devon's sponsorship, more litter and debris were diverted from the landfill in 2012.


2012 Outstanding Business Partner — Denton Independent School District

This award was given by Denton ISD and the Denton Chamber of Commerce for the company's partnerships with Communities in Schools of North Texas, Rivera Elementary School and Devon's adopt-a-school partner, Borman Elementary School.


2012 Torch Award — Better Business Bureau of Central Oklahoma

The Torch Award recognizes the company's outstanding business ethics and service to the community. It recognizes companies that provide outstanding customer service, conduct themselves with a high level of ethics and integrity and contribute to the local community in a matter that sets them apart in the marketplace.


2011 Rewarding Partnership — Alberta, Canada, Chamber of Resources

The Aboriginal Student Job Shadowing Program in Grand Prairie was honored as the most “Rewarding Partnership" by the Alberta Chamber of Resources at their 75th Annual Awards Banquet. Devon is a founding member of the Aboriginal Student Job Shadowing Program. The program offers Aboriginal high school students an authentic and worthwhile work/adult-life experience.


2011 A New Way Award — United Way of Calgary and Area

This award honors Devon's innovative approach in engaging employees between the ages of 23 and 35 in its annual United Way fundraising campaign.


2011 Business of the Year — Groesbeck, Texas, Chamber of Commerce

The chamber of commerce recognized Devon's contributions to various groups in the community, with youth and educational projects topping the list.
