Devon primarily focuses on youth and education through its corporate giving program and community involvement. Devon supports these activities through monetary donations, employee volunteers, in-kind items or fundraising efforts throughout the United States and Canada.
These initiatives impact a variety of groups, ranging from elementary school-age children to young adults. In addition to its corporate contributions program, Devon encourages employees across North America and to participate in programs that aid the youth in areas where the company has major offices or operations.
Two of Devon's major initiatives include a tutoring program at Mark Twain Elementary School in Oklahoma City and the Junior Achievement mentoring program in Houston. More than 225 employees serve as volunteer tutors to students at Mark Twain, located in a largely Hispanic, disadvantaged area of Oklahoma City. Through the Junior Achievement program, a number of Devon employees teach real-world business to middle school students at schools in low-income areas near downtown Houston.
By supporting youth and education efforts throughout the world, Devon can directly impact young lives and enhance the social and economic development of a number of communities.
